I really love this outfit! I got these purple corduroy pants from Gap for $4 in the clearance section and thought they were really cool! Especially for that price! I wore this outfit on a busy Saturday and wore it to take my Grandpa shopping. It was such a comfy outfit and I wasn’t at my best that day. I was so thrilled because I ended up inadvertently color coordinating! My scarf matched my pants, my hat matched my scarf and my nail color ended up matching too! It was a plummy purple! I am not totally sure why that excited me so much! LOL!
I love shopping but I was really not feeling well that day. I had been up for several hours in the middle of the night feeling really yucky. I ended up sleeping in till 11. When Mama told me that she needed me to go with her and shop with Grandpa, I at first was not a happy camper. I was achy and who wants to go out and be around people when you feel crummy? I grumbled to myself through rushing a little makeup on and putting on my shoes. God kind of convicted me of my bad attitude and with some prompting from the Holy Spirit decided to turn it around. “How often do I get to hang out with my mama by myself for an hour? Not often! Pull it together and be happy! You can do this, and you can have a good time doing it!” I gave myself a bit of a pep talk.
Having my normally VERY stoic Grandpa call me sweetheart and chat with me a little while we shopped made it all worth while. A time is coming when he may not be around for me to be able to hang out with my Mama’s Daddy and maybe I can give him a little bit of love in his probably very lonely and boring life. I treasure these times because, they will pass away like it says in Psalms 103
“15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.”
This thought that we have such tiny moments saddens me and makes me a bit melancholy, but at the same time it fuels me to make the most of every moment.
Wow! This post totally just turned into a motivational speech! LOL!
